Pakistan High Commission Visit,
Glasgow & Greenock 2023

We had a fantastic visit to Greenock waterfront yesterday as we showed Commodore Zeeshan Nabi, Defence Advisor at the Pakistan High Commission in London around the beautiful Greenock Waterfront and the facilities at The Beacon Arts Centre. A big thank you to Mr.Stuart McMillan MSP for helping to arrange this visit, also thanks to site Director Lesley Davidson for a guided tour of this amazing facility! Great to meet up with Junaid Ashraff, a real advocate for PNS TARIQ’s return to Scotland.

On day two of the visit to Glasgow sites by Commodore Zeeshan Nabi from the Pakistan High Commission as we continue our visit to review sites along the river in advance of the return to the Clyde of the PNS Tariq/HMS Ambuscade a Clydebuilt Type 21 Frigate. HMS Ambuscade was built not far from the Riverside Museum and it was my pleasure to showcase our amazing city and to talk about our proud Shipbuilding heritage. PNS Tariq/HMS Ambuscade will bring to the Clyde a large piece of Naval Warship building heritage. Additionally she will tell her story of the Falklands Task Force and the events of 1982 to liberate the Falklands. For the first time this will become a dual nationality major landmark that will include her service life while with the Pakistan Navy!
