The City of Crewe, long connected to HMS Ambuscades since World War I, continues to show its unwavering support for the current campaign around HMS Ambuscade, a Type 21 Frigate that holds a special place in the hearts of Crewe’s residents.
Last week, local Sea and Air Cadets organized a competitive sponsored rowing event, raising an impressive £500. This initial event is just the beginning, with more planned in the future. The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by these young cadets serve as a fantastic inspiration to adults and veterans alike, highlighting the strong inter-generational ties in support of this cause.
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and coordination of several key individuals, including Captain Durdana Asari OBE, Peter Mosse, and Stewart Jones, whose efforts have been crucial in organizing and promoting the event. A special thanks goes out to Lt (SCC) Beverly Morton for her role in coordinating the event and the cadets themselves, who gave their all for a noble cause. This event also showcased a unique opportunity for inter-service collaboration and camaraderie.
As the campaign progresses, sponsor forms are available across the UK, inviting people nationwide to support the ongoing efforts around HMS Ambuscade. Looking ahead, the campaign is eager to engage even more local organization.
With the City of Crewe’s continued support and the tireless efforts of all involved, we’re one step closer to achieving our shared goals for HMS Ambuscade. Thank you again to everyone who’s made this possible.
